Editing photographs could be a tiresome task at times, especially when one was as meticulous at it as she was and preferred to do them one at a time. Plus, was craving something chocolaty – another one of the things she preferences, a certain drink from her favorite little coffee shop. It was an addiction, this she knew, but that did not stop her wanting one, or from even locking up her studio apartment to walk down the block to feed said addiction. No, the frozen hot chocolate was calling....no, screaming her name. And that is where her feet took her, to her favorite little coffee shop, nestled right on the corner of her street, which might explain why she fed her addiction for the rich drink so much.

Serious addiction.

After ordering her frothy drink, Gabby found herself a small table next to the window and pulled out her tablet enjoying a the downtime whilst enjoying the chocolate beverage. She had been feeling slightly uneasy the past few days, and she could not quite put her finger on the issue. Which of course, had nothing, or everything to do with the nightmares that had been increasing in on her slumber. Sighing, Gabrielle set the tablet on the table, picked up her drink and leaned back in the chair. She had almost started to hit up the search engine looking for something weird or freaky, which was becoming something she did more and more, definitely more than picking up her camera.

Her mind started wandering, wondering why she was engrossing herself into such, especially since it was starting to seem like she just couldn't stay away. Sitting up suddenly, Gabby had an idea. It would be a start, and well, couldn’t almost every woman benefit with doing such? She snatched her tablet up and immediately started searching for classes, martial arts classes.

There was a list of things that you could usually find in the hands of a hunter; weapons, lore books, alcoholic drinks and coffee. In fact, it was hard to tell which they drank more of--booze or coffee. So it was no surprise that upon rolling into town for a case that Violet would find the nearest coffee shop to the motel and get herself a strong cup and perhaps a snack while she dug around online for more info on what had brought her here. Like most shops a little bell dinged her arrival as she pushed open the door and made her way up to the counter to stare at both the menu and the pastry case.

"What can I get for you today, miss?" The barista asked with a smile that was a little too perky for Vi.

"Can I get a large white mocha with caramel and two extra shots of espresso." She responded while glancing at the menu again.

"Two extra shots, you sure about that?" The barista questioned which earned her an eyeroll from Vi. "Okay...anything else?"

"A sausage biscuit, a cherry and cheese danish and a couple of those french macarons. Please." Vi finished ordering and pulled out her wallet from her messenger bag. The girl told her total and she paid, with tip, before grabbing a seat near the windows and pulled out her beat up laptop while awaiting her order. The poor girl looked like she was having trouble carrying it all but thankfully managed to get it all on the table and not the floor.

"Thanks." Vi said quickly before reaching for her biscuit and wasting no time in eating it. She had been on the road for two days living off convenience store stops--so yes she was damn hungry. When she was finished she looked up to grab her coffee and noticed a woman sitting near her and smiled politely in greeting."Morning."

This was Boston. Which meant that the list that her spontaneous Google search had brought up onto the square screen was extensive, to say the least, something she should not have been surprised by. And quite frankly, Gabby was not, it seemed to be quite the norm nowadays. But she knew that her reasoning was not going to be the exactly same as anyone else’s: she wanted to be able to handled herself with as few repercussions from her brother or any other siblings, or family, for that matter. It would help her, she hoped, in more ways than one and well…wouldn’t it be useful with this new direction she was slowly inching herself towards?

Clicking on the top ranked search result, she took her time perusing the site, until her mind started to wander back to why she was looking at such in the first place. Yes, she might think that her family would leave her alone if they knew she was taking such a precaution, but really, who was she kidding. Gabby set the tablet on the table and picked up her drink, taking a sip as she turned to start out of the window. There was no real way to let anyone know, it would definitely have to be something she kept to herself, for now at least.

She let out a small sigh, her attention leaving her thoughts and the window that she wasn’t really staring out of, back to the inside of the small shop. A quick scan and Gabby was looking into a smiling face, “Morning,” she returned with a smile, while this was indeed Boston and not the friendly South, there was something about this certain coffee shop that brought out friendliness. “Hi.”

Violet was slightly relieved to realize that the girl hadn't been paying attention to her as she was gorging on her first real meal in days. Her mother would've asked her if she was raised in a barn if she had witnessed Vi eating in such a manner but this was life on the road. She wasn't in Michigan anymore, it was no longer going hunting fora few days and coming home to a home cooked meal. She sighed thinking about her mom's cooking and how long it had been since she'd went home for a visit but she quickly shook the thought away.

"Hi." Vi chirped at the women, the food and hot coffee putting her in a friendly state of mind that she was usually void of in most circumstances. "It's a nice place here, I'm guessing your local?"

Normally she wouldn't assume such things about people, at least not out loud--being a hunter meant always being observant and knowing things about those around you at any given time. But she could tell the woman was comfortable sitting there and that likely meant she was a regular. It was weird how much you could tell about people with a simple glance, as long as your trained to do so.

There seemed to be something about small, quaint little coffee shops that brought the friendly out in people that normally would never even give certain types of other people the time of day. Not that that was the case here, it was just a passing thought that ran through her mind as she cast blue eyes in the woman’s direction. It just seemed like it was only natural to toss out a greeting when it looked as if she had been eyeballing the other woman. But then, she was friendly, sometimes too much so, much to the displeasure of her siblings who thought that being as asshole was the best thing in the world.

“Yes.” Even though most of her time was spent traveling, she was in fact a Bostonian. The question, however, was unexpected. Gabby did not recall seeing the other woman around the neighborhood, let alone in the shop before…but it was not like she spent so much time there herself that she knew all the other regulars. The woman’s accent placed her as not being local though, which could mean a great many number of things.

But ever since her possession she was leery of strangers talking to her, it could be the same demon for all she knew, just sitting there staring at her through another human’s eyes, taunting her. She hated that that was the direction her thoughts tended to go now, that she felt she had to protect herself from strangers, even if they seemed friendly enough.
